Combining textures to create depth allows you to focus on creating impact in your home while showcasing your most treasured pieces. By selecting pieces thoughtfully for your home that you can use year-round, you’re always stylish.
We’re all about warm nudes and earthy shades, including greenery and plants. While not a favorite for some, these shades can be found as accents in many homes, creating depth and interest.
Along with warm shades, the texture is at play with fuzzy throws, brocade pillows, and soft velvets. My favorite way to mix up textures is with linen material and velvet. It creates a particular “je ne sais quoi” moment and invokes an inviting feel.
It’s getting darker earlier in the evening, so add additional lighting. It’s important to consider how you use the room, so think about task lighting and overall lighting to keep the mood consistent. Combining these textures ensures you create depth in a variety of lighting conditions.
Proudly displaying your favorite treasured items changes your interior environment and creates a sense of place. This creates a welcoming and enveloping room for you and your guests. Use these items to inspire and encourage you – they set the vibe for the room, and are great conversation starters! An often overlooked element, scent. There’s something for everyone.
When selecting room décor, think about the overall purpose. A tray, for example, can be staged in several different ways and easily transferred to make room for entertaining. I love to use a clear tray and add a few decorative items inside to create a sense of atmosphere in an area. A clear tray over light wood tables invokes a clean and natural approach, while a white tray gives a more contemporary feel. I love a good bit of basket décor and handmade items, so go check out my friends and shop small at Life Inspirit.
These are a few of my favorite finds that have been a great asset in keeping my new routine organized and our home running smoothly. It’s almost that time of year where entertaining is key! Checkout this post for Fall decor!
