As busy medical professionals, my clients needed a restorative place to come home to and completely unwind. Overwhelmed with the sheer volume of work and not knowing where to start, our project began with a Design Consultation where I made rough sketches and measurements. Together, we made a plan to break it down into two phases, prioritizing the bedrooms and living spaces.

With an initial budget of $50k, priority was given to sourcing beds and seating for the main living areas. The family required new items throughout the home as they began scaling up from a townhome. Items were sourced from various shops to create a curated and custom look that emphasized an earthy and lived-in feel. Luxury, but make it livable!

With pets, we needed durable, pet-friendly materials and pieces designed to stand up to family visits, movie nights, and lots of entertaining.

Reminiscing on travel and the birthplace of my client, we channeled a lived-in feel with a touch of linen mixed with leather accents and pieces for an earthy and relaxed vibe throughout. Woven throughout the family is the enjoyment of music and an appreciation of antique elements, which set the stage for the cozy and intriguing music room surrounded by a textured accent wall and completed with a treasured baby grand piano.

A breathtaking antique chest (client’s own) is employed as a coffee table in the family room that boasts a large seating area for date-night-in or movie nights for the family and friends, doing double duty as a playroom with an adjacent workout area. Spills are a worry of the past with removable and washable covers.

Our timeline was challenging during a well-known period involving lengthy lead times and a requested ability to celebrate a birthday in the home within a twelve-week timeframe. I’m proud to say that we accomplished this! The finishing touches are currently being installed, and final photos are coming soon!
