I am beyond thrilled to announce my plans for this season’s One Room Challenge. With my maiden voyage in the books this past Spring, I am ready to dive right in and get to work!
Drumroll please……
To say that I have been itching to update our living room is quite possibly the understatement of the century. With my own personal style nailed down, I am all-in on this room.
Here’s a few shots of the before:
My design concept:
This concept features many of my personal favorites. Among them, is a vase made locally here in VA Beach!
Check them out here: Jars Of Dust
The shelves were a DIY we made just over a year ago – you can see more on this process here: Ink & Lumber: A Modern Shelving DIY
The bead décor is available in my Shop
Here’s my current to-do list (sure to grow longer):
Wall color
-Compare Aesthetic White to Harvest Moon by Backdrop
-Consider repainting room for a brighter, cleaner atmosphere
Trim color
-paint window trim (get rid of that blue still left from a previous room color scheme)
Area rug
-something with cushion but that can be easily cleaned
Sofa
-finally something more comfortable and durable to stand up to kids and spills
Shelves
-properly decorate the shelves we built over a year ago
-add storage that’s cohesive and not cobbled together
Lighting
-add any necessary lighting (spoiler alert, more lighting is necessary)
-maybe a wall sconce or two?
Seating areas
-establish another seating area away from the sofa by the main window?
Additional storage
-thinking ahead to homeschooling
-storage for books to be easily accessed downstairs
Floor seating
-Alseda stools?
-actual floor cushions
I’m sure to add more as I get more involved in the project.
See you next week and stay tuned as I’ll post sneak peaks to my Instagram throughout the week!
